This in-depth, year-long Nationally Accredited Healthcare Training Course will provide you with the qualifications to act as a Director or Coordinator of a child care facility, by imparting advanced skills that build on the knowledge and competencies gained through our Certificate program.

You will also gain additional skills required to function in a leadership position. Such crucial skills include designing and implementing curricula, collection and analysis of data and information to ensure that learning is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the children in care. You will also learn other skills necessary for managers, such as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and strategies for fostering creativity and cooperative behavior in children.

COURSE FOCUS

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students are required to have a sound proficiency in language, literacy and numeracy (LLN Level 3)

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  • 28 units (23 core units + 5 elective units)
  • First aid must be completed externally prior to course completion
  • Read and write to year 12 level or Cert III in English
  • Police clearance check
  • Working with children check

PRACTICAL PLACEMENT

  • 400 Hours Total Required
